After she has taken the money for an abortion, she devours her career and decides to leave for Paris, as a result of professional failure and disappointments in love. Housed in a shabby hotel, she invents a new identity and disguised herself as a man. This game brings her some success with women, especially Myriam, a prostitute with whom she befriends. She moves to her home and becomes her lover. She soon becomes tyrannical until she becomes a pimp. When Myriam is murdered, she prostitutes herself in turn, before being hired as a cleaning lady at a doctor whose young wife, Anne-Marie, becomes her new prey.
