據《魯迅日記》，魯迅於1936年3月28日，與蕭軍、蕭紅、王蘊如、蕖官（周蕖）、周建人、許廣平、周海嬰同至麗都影戲院觀此片下集，當時譯名爲《絕島沉珠記》。Animal trainer Clyde Beatty heads a rescue party in search of his girl, Ruth, and her father who get lost looking for an uncharted island. His dirigible crashes into the jungles of the island. When he locates Ruth, he learns that her father has disappeared. The ensuing search is hindered by greedy gold hunters and wild animals.
