影片根据中国古代神话故事《山海经》所记载的周饶小人国传说改编而成，讲述了周饶小人国的王子锤木，在意外之中闯下大祸，导致父亲变成石像，最后一路经历冒险，重新拯救了父亲和王国的故事。The troll prince Trym has only three days to save his father, King Grom, who has turned to stone and had his tail stolen by the evil presence in the forest. Trym and his companions must go on a wild and dangerous journey across the troll kingdom of Ervod to save his father's life and return the kingdom to its rightful ruler.
