孙悟空（谢苗 饰）受观音所托，回到五百年前，去取铁扇公主（黄一琳 饰）的一颗眼泪，用以恢复芭蕉扇的法力。哪知道孙悟空返回过去之后失去了记忆，成为了铁扇公主的小跟班。彼时，芭蕉扇被牛魔王（马京京 饰）和玉面狐狸霸占了，铁扇公主带着孙悟空屡次同他们争斗，均以失败告终，孙悟空在此过程中还身受重伤。他的勇气和执着渐渐打动了铁扇公主冰冷如铁的心。 然而，就在这个节骨眼上，牛魔王向铁扇公主求婚了，孙悟空自知自己比不上牛魔王，黯然离去，并且打算摘一朵长生花作为送给他们两人的新婚礼物。长生花的魔力让孙悟空恢复了记忆。There's a volcano wreaking havoc in the Monkey King Sun Wukong's world, sapping the magic Banana Leaf Fan of its power. To set things right he'll have to travel five centuries into the past. He embarks on a mission from the Goddess of Mercy, to coax tears from the dry eyes of Princess Iron Fan. Sun Wukong arrives in the past with no memory of who he is, falling in with the princess as a follower named Sun Xiaokong. After that, the princess and Sun Xiaokong start their mission to retrieve the magic Banana Leaf Fan back from the Bull King and the Masked Jade Fox.
