在某小型玩具公司供职的大道寺保（远藤宪一饰）是一个勤勤恳恳甚至有些憋屈窝囊的中年男子，他为了工作终日奔波，也不受周遭的重视。偏偏迟来的桃花期在51岁的时候降临。同公司23岁的女孩花泽美兰（莲佛美沙子饰）因工作关系与之熟稔并陷入热恋，大道寺鼓足勇气向对方求婚，如愿得到女孩的答应。此后的一天，阿保踌躇满志登门拜访岳父岳母，结果发现令他震惊的事实。原来美兰的爸爸花泽纪一郎（渡部笃郎饰）不仅与之同岁，而且是某大型企业内成就非凡的商界精英人士。　　得知女儿带回来一个貌不起眼的大老爹男友，一向自恋的纪一郎简直要气疯了。他斩钉截铁绝不同意这门婚事，由此上演了一连串的同岁翁婿大作战……TamotsuDaidoji is a 51-year-old single man who works as a department manager at a mid-size trading company. One day, Kiichiro meets his daughter's boyfriend, who turns out to be Tamotsu.
